Did you know that more women bet on Online Poker than men do?  It is true.  The representatives at Sportsinteraction.com report industry studies that show many women prefer to double down while staying at home in front of their personal computer.  They say that women now out number men at Internet casinos.  

Since the first online casino was launched in 1995, Internet gambling has grown exponentially, with estimated revenue of more than a billion a year and nearly 2,000 Web sites offering everything you could ask for from sports betting, lotteries, and blackjack and bingo.  

According to one study, 53 percent of those who gamble online rather than in casinos in the United States were female, and the numbers of women gamblers are growing.  Look at it this way, if you had the choice of having to get all dressed up and travel to a casino only to breathe in cigarette smoke, drink watered-down expensive cocktails, and get hit on by undesirable men, or staying home in your bathrobe and having some gambling experience, which one would you rather choose?  I think that the choice is obvious to most women.  

Sometimes women have a hard time sleeping and just go online and play for a few minutes, and then once they have relaxed a bit, and then go back to bed.  Playing online for women is the best way to learn the game.  They are free to get the feel of the game, make mistakes, and learn from them without the annoyance of men ridiculing them.  Some expert women poker players have found it easier to bluff while playing online.  Online poker playing and other games of skill have become the alternatives for women because of the macho elements that guys have towards women when they playing poker.  

A survey of U.S. Poker players commissioned by The World Poker Exchange, sponsor of the upcoming London Open lifestyle poker tournament in August, reveals preferences regarding playing poker, a game that is reaching new heights in popularity.  Seventy-five percent of players engage in a game at least three times a month.  A 57 percent majority of online poker players believe that winning is more about skill than luck versus the 74 percent of traditional casino poker players who believe that skill definitely is the ticket for luck.  

The old prejudices that playing poker is "unladylike" and that poker is a man's game have disappeared.  Half of men surveyed say it is sexy when women play poker.  Eighty percent of female players stated that gender makes no difference in poker.  Women are playing as often as men, however women are more interested in the social and fun aspects of the game where men concentrate generally on the money part.  More than half of all players say that the betting is the best part and win or lose, they love the thrill of betting in poker games.
